Employment The City of Williamson is currently not accepting any applications for the position of career firefighter. The Civil Service list of qualified applicants expires September 2012. At that time the Civil Service Commission will call for a new list of candidates to be certified as eligible for employment. Upon completion of the open application period candidates who meet the preliminary eligibility to test requirements will undergo an applicant physical ability test which is designed to determine if the candidate possess sufficient physical strength, stamina, and agility to perform the rigorous job of a firefighter. All qualifying candidates will then be scheduled to undergo a written examination. During the open application period applications can be picked up at the Mayor’s Office located in City Hall.
