It is nearly impossible to see, taste or smell its toxic fumes, but CO can kill you before you are aware of it if it is in your home. Five hundred (500) people die from carbon monoxide poisoning every year and more than fifteen thousand (15,000) are treated in hospital emergency rooms for CO poisoning. In order to help prevent the needless loss of life from this silent killer the WFD purchased a sophisticated multi-gas detection instrument capable of sniffing out even the most minute levels of carbon monoxide. A simple walk-thru your home or business by WFD personnel is all it takes to determine if carbon monoxide levels are present. Along with annual cleaning and service of your heating equipment by a qualified service technician, an annual carbon monoxide inspection by the WFD is a must.
