COMMUNITY SERVICE The following is a community service provided by the Williamson Fire Department.
Request a station tour
Children of all ages are fascinated with fire engines. What better way to fulfill a child's wishes than to let him or her see a fire engine up close and in person. The Williamson Fire Department has been conducting station tours for over a half century. Many local elementary schools make this their most important field trip of the year. Kids are given a guided tour of the engines and equipment as well as getting a chance to see what a typical day in the life of a firefighter is really like. Firefighters always interact with the children in a warm and friendly manner and depending on their age talk with them about the importance of being fire safety conscious. Thanks to the generosity of the Tug Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, Hatfield Funeral Chapel, the Rotary Club, and the Williamson Women's Club, the Department has some very good fun activity booklets that every child receives when he or she visits the station. Tours are available any day. To schedule a station tour call 235-5273 |
